Pink Coyote, Inc.
Several years ago, Beth’s family received a letter inviting them to the Microboard meeting in Nashville. They did lots of research and decided that having a Microboard was the perfect thing for Beth.
“We had lots of bad experiences with some of the provider agencies that she had before,” stated Beth’s mother. We filled out an application. At that time Beth needed a different level of care. Things were put on hold, temporarily, until the level of care was worked out to everyone’s satisfaction.”
“We live in a very rural area, so it was hard to find an insurance company that would give us liability insurance. Our fire departments are not very close, but, finally we got the insurance.”
“A Microboard is a wonderful thing,” said Beth’s mother, “especially for persons with very high needs and for people who have families who are very involved.”
Mrs. Campbell stated that often other agencies are just not very interested in dealing with the families. “The agencies want to do things one certain way, that doesn’t work for everyone.”
“The Microboard allows Beth’s care to be more individualized for her and more appropriate. I have never understood why people can’t live out in the community, instead of group homes.”
We went to the meeting and then developed Beth’s PATH. We are looking forward to getting started. “Beth really, truly has a life now, thanks to the Microboards! "Beth’s favorite color is Pink and her favorite movie is Coyote Ugly; therefore she wanted to name her Microboard Pink Coyote, Inc.
